This happened because hurricane Felicia is getting weaker and weaker as it’s approaching Hawaii. It was a category 4 storm but then weaken to category 3. The last reports I read say that it’s now only a category 1 storm.
Of course, people and officials in Hawaii are still preparing for other possibilities. While a tropical storm Felicia isn’t likely to be dangerous, if it gets strong again the situation might be different.
